Commando Crow:

you were was, I guess you would say like the difference between

Commando Crow:

being in your private domain, stepping out the door and you're in public

Commando Crow:

and the amount of, I guess the amount of hazard to one's health increases

Commando Crow:

exponentially when you walk outside.

Commando Crow:

That's just a fact of life, but but that's what you were talking about.

Commando Crow:

First of all, with being out in public places, not necessarily

Commando Crow:

crowded places, even just Being out in public and then being in crowded

Commando Crow:

places or crowded venues or whatever.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah, and large gatherings are always treated

Commando Crow:

a little bit different than just being in public and I personally

Commando Crow:

don't go to large gatherings anymore.

Commando Crow:

Not just because times have definitely changed and I'm glad I don't

Commando Crow:

now because you just don't know.

Commando Crow:

To me, I feel like it's just a prime target.

Commando Crow:

Doesn't really matter if there's any strategic location or anything anymore

Commando Crow:

with all of the people that have come over the border and from so many

Commando Crow:

different countries that actually hate us, that like to do bombs and just

Commando Crow:

make a statement, just mass numbers.

Commando Crow:

Glad I don't go to a public place or should I say.

Commando Crow:

gatherings anymore, but yeah.

Commando Crow:

And I don't think you're just talking about going to concerts or something

Commando Crow:

like that, either, like we used to do when we were younger, even

Commando Crow:

going to restaurants or going to the post office in Jackson is scary.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

But going to restaurants or, private businesses, obviously the numbers of

Commando Crow:

patrons can change from place to place or type of business, whatever it is.

Commando Crow:

But yeah, I would be specifically talking about, like concerts or

Commando Crow:

festivals or stuff like that.

Commando Crow:

I really don't want to put myself in that position because it's just too hard to

Commando Crow:

keep eyes and identify possible threats, especially, if you're not working with

Commando Crow:

some type of a team and even a team, is it going to be able to catch every threat?

Commando Crow:

So I just removed myself from those situations altogether.

Commando Crow:

And then, it's you prevent getting eaten by a shark by not going in the damn

Commando Crow:

water, so I'm you won't hear of little old me being blown up in a large gathering

Commando Crow:

because I don't go to large gatherings Whereas I mean if I go into a convenience

Commando Crow:

store or a fast food restaurant or an actual sit down restaurant I mean i've

Commando Crow:

got my standard things that I do anytime I walk into a business I'm looking for

Commando Crow:

back doors, alternate exits or whatever.

Commando Crow:

Suspicious people.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

I get eyes on everybody that's in there.

Commando Crow:

Not that I'm not sitting there staring them down.

Commando Crow:

I'm not doing any of that, but just simple observations, I don't, and I'm

Commando Crow:

not looking for things like side arms.

Commando Crow:

If somebody is carrying a side arm, more than likely if it's

Commando Crow:

holstered, more than likely.

Commando Crow:

He's legit.

Commando Crow:

I'm not worried about those kind of things.

Commando Crow:

I'm worried about the people that go in with either baggy clothes.

Commando Crow:

They openly portray a thuggish look.

Commando Crow:

I don't mean thuggish as in just gangster.

Commando Crow:

I'm talking they don't present themselves well.

Commando Crow:

the clothes or yeah, just things like that because you don't

Commando Crow:

know somebody is carrying a gun.

Commando Crow:

Which like I said somebody got one on the side on a holster.

Commando Crow:

I'm not worried about that guy Hey, man, he's got the right to have it.

Commando Crow:

I'm probably feeling a little safer if he does have it But yeah,

Commando Crow:

i'm looking for sketchy things

Commando Crow:

You're talking about just, every day and, general living,

Commando Crow:

inside your own dwelling it's hard enough to keep up with what, I say

Commando Crow:

hard enough, we always collect stuff we don't need or don't realize we kept

Commando Crow:

for so long and don't get rid of, but, being inside and trying to keep up with

Commando Crow:

what's What can be used against you or not in case of a break in is a lot.

Commando Crow:

But when you walk outside, just walking out on your front

Commando Crow:

porch, especially where I am.

Commando Crow:

You walk out on the front porch and there's no telling how many bullets are

Commando Crow:

falling from the sky today, but even without that, you've got, people I've been

Commando Crow:

amazed at how many people walk underneath trees where the limbs are hanging, and

Commando Crow:

they don't even notice the limbs, but they'll walk right up underneath them

Commando Crow:

and believe it or not, the smallest limb.

Commando Crow:

He'll kill you easily.

Commando Crow:

Oh, yeah.

Commando Crow:

And, when you started talking about this public place thing, I'm thinking

Commando Crow:

right outside is a public place.

Commando Crow:

It's outside of my private dwelling, so it's a public place.

Commando Crow:

But just the smallest things that, I look at hanging limbs or, a tree that

Commando Crow:

might fall over in the road eventually one day, just things like that.

Commando Crow:

I'm always observing though, but then when you start talking about

Commando Crow:

adding people into the mix, there's a lot more you start looking at.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah, and women are prime targets on a lot of these

Commando Crow:

things because, a lot of people don't realize, and I'm not just talking about

Commando Crow:

Latin American countries but I am gonna specifically name out those, but a lot of

Commando Crow:

Latin American countries, their culture is, by the age a little girl hits puberty,

Commando Crow:

they can legally have sex with that child.

Commando Crow:

And like I said, I'm not trying to call any one nationality out.

Commando Crow:

There are a lot of nations that have come into this country that also have

Commando Crow:

very different cultures and would be considered unacceptable here.

Commando Crow:

And white women, like they go into a Walmart or a Target or a big box store,

Commando Crow:

constantly keep your head on a swivel and just see if one person, it's not hard

Commando Crow:

to recognize the same person showing up around you go through 10, 15 different

Commando Crow:

aisles or locations in a store and the same cats there, things like that.

Commando Crow:

That's unnerving.

Commando Crow:

And it's not just unnerving.

Commando Crow:

It's highly suspicious.

Commando Crow:

Now, am I going to sit there and just say that, Oh I see this

Commando Crow:

person in a lot of different places where I'm going in the store.

Commando Crow:

Does that mean they're out to get me?

Commando Crow:

I'm not saying that I'm just saying, be aware.

Commando Crow:

And if you do have somebody following you in a store, if they don't have security,

Commando Crow:

find somebody to walk with you to your vehicle, have your phone in your hand.

Commando Crow:

Hey, call the police.

Commando Crow:

I'm not a, I support cops, but they're getting to where they don't

Commando Crow:

really want to do much of protecting.

Commando Crow:

They want to show up after the crime.

Commando Crow:

Have some keys in your hand, put your hand on a knife.

Commando Crow:

If you carry a pew, have your hands on that son of a bitch.

Commando Crow:

When you're going out, don't just have comfort knowing you've got it.

Commando Crow:

Put your hands on it.

Commando Crow:

Even just a can of mace or.

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

Or what do you call it?

Commando Crow:

A phaser.

Commando Crow:

Those horns.

Commando Crow:

Or if something makes some noise.

Commando Crow:

Believe it or not, just the slightest startle of somebody

Commando Crow:

will turn them the other way.

Commando Crow:

But yeah, anything.

Commando Crow:

You don't necessarily have to have a gun to defend yourself.

Commando Crow:

No.

Commando Crow:

I think your best defense is something you were planning

Commando Crow:

on talking about here anyway.

Commando Crow:

It's just simple, I say simple, situational awareness.

Commando Crow:

And knowing what's around you at all times, or getting, getting to

Commando Crow:

the point where you can sense what's around you, is absolutely key.

Commando Crow:

I didn't realize how key, even though I had lived on the streets before, when you

Commando Crow:

taught me how to take in martial arts.

Commando Crow:

Remember, we used to train blindfolded.

Commando Crow:

I was like, what in the world?

Commando Crow:

How do you do this?

Commando Crow:

You'll figure it out or you'll get your butt kicked a few times but

Commando Crow:

you'll start listening to movements.

Commando Crow:

You'll start, you get to where you can feel your environment move or whatever.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And these things, situational awareness is something

Commando Crow:

you don't need money to practice it.

Commando Crow:

You don't need any set location to practice it, a right environment.

Commando Crow:

The right environment is the environment that each and every one of us is in

Commando Crow:

wherever you are.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Just practice it.

Commando Crow:

Pay attention.

Commando Crow:

If you're driving down the road after you leave a business, when you leave

Commando Crow:

a parking lot or before you leave the parking lot, get eyes on vehicles that

Commando Crow:

are leaving at the same time that you are.

Commando Crow:

And not just the vehicle is quick to identify if you're 20, 30 miles

Commando Crow:

down the road and that's the same vehicles there, but good eyes on the

Commando Crow:

person operating that vehicle also.

Commando Crow:

You need to be doing that anyway, driving because you,

Commando Crow:

that's how you drive defensively is keep your eyes on the drivers

Commando Crow:

or not keep your eyes on drivers, but be Aware of what they're doing.

Commando Crow:

What the dad used to make us do all the time.

Commando Crow:

Look at the guess what game in front of you.

Commando Crow:

Guess what?

Commando Crow:

What if they

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: do?

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

What if they pull out?

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

You know what if, because

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: yeah, you might be clear as day.

Commando Crow:

That guy might not be watching and he might just creep out in front of you.

Commando Crow:

If you're watching his head as opposed to the car.

Commando Crow:

You'll

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: get a better idea as to what he's thinking about doing,

Commando Crow:

which is true.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: It is true.

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

Situational awareness, in my opinion, is key for anybody's personal protection.

Commando Crow:

No matter what situation you're in, start practicing And it is

Commando Crow:

a skill because you can hone it.

Commando Crow:

You can get better at it and, just start really paying

Commando Crow:

attention to who is around you.

Commando Crow:

In every situation, like I said, driving a vehicle, going in a store.

Commando Crow:

I can't even begin to think of all the places that regular people go.

Commando Crow:

I go to a million places.

Commando Crow:

For my job, I go to a million places.

Commando Crow:

When I get off, I go home, but of course I do go to Sam's

Commando Crow:

or I do go to a tobacco shop.

Commando Crow:

I do things that put me in public, but I'm constantly aware of what's

Commando Crow:

going on around me constantly, and it doesn't bother me at all for myself.

Commando Crow:

I just anticipate the worst.

Commando Crow:

Period.

Commando Crow:

I'm don't know what bad I'm looking for.

Commando Crow:

I just know that if it gives me an uneasy feeling, whether I'm right or wrong, if I

Commando Crow:

get an uneasy feeling, I leave that area.

Commando Crow:

Have to expect the worst anyway, especially in this

Commando Crow:

world we live in today, because there's always been bad in the world.

Commando Crow:

So you, you have to expect bad things to happen.

Commando Crow:

We've been told our whole lives and expect the unexpected boy.

Commando Crow:

Were they talking a lot about that in the military?

Commando Crow:

Always expect the unexpected that's the, man, I know what

Commando Crow:

it is, bad things can happen.

Commando Crow:

Bad things do happen.

Commando Crow:

There are bad people in the world.

Commando Crow:

That limbs fall out of trees once in a while.

Commando Crow:

Expect those things to happen.

Commando Crow:

But don't think.

Commando Crow:

For any, don't think for any minute that'll never happen to

Commando Crow:

me, because as soon as you think it, it's bound to happen to you.

Commando Crow:

And the I forgot what I was fixing to say but like you were talking

Commando Crow:

about expecting bad things to happen.

Commando Crow:

You might be like at the tobacco store, everything looks calm and cool,

Commando Crow:

but then you walk out and there's a shootout going down Highway 80.

Commando Crow:

You don't want to get caught up in that, right?

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

And those are just things that you have to expect.

Commando Crow:

Especially because of the world we live in today.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And another thing is, and it happened quite a bit, 2020.

Commando Crow:

If you live in an area and there is going to be some type of a

Commando Crow:

demonstration or protest or something going on, I don't care if you got

Commando Crow:

a lot to say about that topic.

Commando Crow:

I don't care if you want to go join it.

Commando Crow:

Don't.

Commando Crow:

Because there's always going to be, you got mob mentality.

Commando Crow:

One person does something stupid and then that's going to encourage many

Commando Crow:

other people to do something stupid.

Commando Crow:

And you have greatly increased your chances of being a victim.

Commando Crow:

I don't openly put myself in positions that I would call even marginally risky.

Commando Crow:

I don't care how impassioned I am about a certain topic.

Commando Crow:

If they wanted to come tear down a dang historical statue or monument,

Commando Crow:

I don't want them to tear it down, but I'm not going to be the

Commando Crow:

guy that goes down there either.

Commando Crow:

I'm just not going to do it.

Commando Crow:

There are other avenues.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah, but I know about me.

Commando Crow:

I know harm or I don't plan on hurting anyone.

Commando Crow:

I don't have intent to do anything, but I can't speak for those other

Commando Crow:

people and whether I want to hurt somebody or not, which I don't, I

Commando Crow:

can't swear that everybody there ain't, is thinking the same way I am.

Commando Crow:

And if you're there, you could be in, you could end

Commando Crow:

up in a position where somebody's going to have to get hurt.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: That's yeah.

Commando Crow:

Cause I'm not going to back down if I have to defend myself or my wife, I'm going

Commando Crow:

to defend us, but I'm not going to put myself in a position to have to do that.

Commando Crow:

Nobody wins a fight,

Commando Crow:

right?

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And the altercations.

Commando Crow:

That we're talking about, you don't know the limit or to the extent of

Commando Crow:

what that other person would do.

Commando Crow:

It might not be pull out a gun or a knife and shoot or stab somebody,

Commando Crow:

but it could very well be that, they got three or four buddies, they want

Commando Crow:

to mark somebody and they kick your head in and still kill you, it is,

Commando Crow:

and you're just an innocent bystander.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah, there's no reason to be in that situation at all.

Commando Crow:

But yeah, and I think everybody ought to take take the initiative, have a

Commando Crow:

little personal responsibility and start exercising and honing that skill

Commando Crow:

of, awareness and, being so aware.

Commando Crow:

Hyper aware of your surroundings.

Commando Crow:

It's just, it's so important.

Commando Crow:

Yeah, especially today with everything going south as it is,

Commando Crow:

but, there's something that can go hand in hand with situational awareness.

Commando Crow:

And I know, my kids still like to go to concerts and things like that.

Commando Crow:

And that's great.

Commando Crow:

We were young too.

Commando Crow:

We went to all kinds of concerts.

Commando Crow:

We were going when Mosh pits became a big deal and then people started

Commando Crow:

dying and boy, do we get people in an uproar over that, right?

Commando Crow:

It happened.

Commando Crow:

We were in a few of them.

Commando Crow:

We grew up.

Commando Crow:

Things were a little worse today, like I said, my kids

Commando Crow:

still like to go to concerts.

Commando Crow:

All my kids are females.

Commando Crow:

Now, granted, I got one that can handle herself quite well and handle quite

Commando Crow:

a few people by herself, but there is something that can be done if you,

Commando Crow:

if you just want to go to concerts.

Commando Crow:

I don't say anything wrong with it.

Commando Crow:

Just make sure you go with a crowd of people.

Commando Crow:

Extra eyes watching out for each other.

Commando Crow:

As long as you're watching out for each other, you minimize the chances of

Commando Crow:

anything happening to you or anybody else.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

And that's really true.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

Moving in groups is probably one of the best things you can do.

Commando Crow:

I know that You can't always have people with you all the time, but life just

Commando Crow:

doesn't work that way, but absolutely like for me, hell, anybody in the

Commando Crow:

military, but specifically like when I was in basic training, Fort Jackson

Commando Crow:

had a problem with sexual assaults

Commando Crow:

and

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: everywhere.

Commando Crow:

We weren't allowed to do anything.

Commando Crow:

We had to move with our battle buddy, period.

Commando Crow:

Wherever they went, you went.

Commando Crow:

Wherever you went, they went.

Commando Crow:

And women especially.

Commando Crow:

Women had to be just about escorted everywhere they went.

Commando Crow:

It was insane.

Commando Crow:

And I'm sure everybody that was in the military during that time remembers that.

Commando Crow:

We had day shutdowns just so they could go over the articles

Commando Crow:

at UCMJ about sexual charges.

Commando Crow:

It was crazy, but yeah I remember all that.

Commando Crow:

Yeah,

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: take your battle buddy.

Commando Crow:

It's good to do that anyway.

Commando Crow:

I don't think, as a matter of fact, the whole time I was in,

Commando Crow:

I don't think I went anywhere without another sailor or marine with us.

Commando Crow:

We always traveled in groups, now it'd probably be that group that cleaned

Commando Crow:

out a bar, but we were just having fun.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: See, there's another thing that goes along with

Commando Crow:

the situational awareness in the area, like what we're talking about

Commando Crow:

specifically, not becoming a victim.

Commando Crow:

And that people don't understand.

Commando Crow:

A lot of people don't.

Commando Crow:

Physical fitness is more crucial than people think.

Commando Crow:

It's not just so you'll, have a stronger heart or lung capacity or larger muscles.

Commando Crow:

It,

Commando Crow:

Oh, that helps

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: physical fitness helps with clarity and

Commando Crow:

thinking with stressful situations.

Commando Crow:

People have generally the physically fit do better and stressful

Commando Crow:

situations of making decisions.

Commando Crow:

It also provides a level of confidence and the confidence that

Commando Crow:

I'm talking about, isn't it's not walk around boastful or cocky.

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

When you're physically fit, there is a air about you.

Commando Crow:

You're confident you're not, it's like training martial arts or Jiu Jitsu or

Commando Crow:

Judo or whatever, or being a boxer.

Commando Crow:

You just look at anybody that's a battle tested veteran.

Commando Crow:

He'll walk through situations everybody else is running from.

Commando Crow:

It's not that he's not scared of it, but he's been through it.

Commando Crow:

He's conditioned to it.

Commando Crow:

He's more prepared for it.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And because of that confidence, other

Commando Crow:

people can sense that confidence.

Commando Crow:

They don't know what you know, and you present yourself in

Commando Crow:

public as a confident person.

Commando Crow:

As a confident person, you are less likely to become a target or a victim.

Commando Crow:

And I would recommend physical fitness, which applies in

Commando Crow:

almost every aspect of life.

Commando Crow:

It's going to bode you well.

Commando Crow:

Your life, the quality of life is going to be thousand times

Commando Crow:

better if you are physically fit.

Commando Crow:

Then, I know everybody can't go off and do some type of training

Commando Crow:

Close quarters training is ideal.

Commando Crow:

I think some type of jujitsu, something.

Commando Crow:

Cause if you know this stuff, even basics and you're walking around and you are

Commando Crow:

confident that you have learned certain things and you're proficient executing

Commando Crow:

those techniques, you are less concerned about somebody trying to do something

Commando Crow:

to you because in the back of your head.

Commando Crow:

You understand and realize that I've got something for you.

Commando Crow:

I'm not going to be an easy target.

Commando Crow:

And that's the type of confidence that I'm speaking of.

Commando Crow:

Not only that too, when you have that kind of confidence, you

Commando Crow:

have that kind of skill, you've got that ability, you're also that person that's

Commando Crow:

going to try to defuse the situation before you have to use that ability.

Commando Crow:

And I think that's where a lot of that confidence comes from, to be honest.

Commando Crow:

I'm speaking from personal experience, probably more than anything

Commando Crow:

else, but it seems to me that's where the confidence comes from.

Commando Crow:

Yeah, I got certain abilities other people don't have, and I can probably

Commando Crow:

hurt somebody pretty badly, but If I don't have to, it took something to

Commando Crow:

get to that ability, that skill level.

Commando Crow:

So you have a, you have a respect for what it took to get there, right?

Commando Crow:

Because you didn't just get there, you got your butt handed to you several times.

Commando Crow:

So you're more than likely going to try to diffuse the situation

Commando Crow:

before you have to use something.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And it goes along with the old saying that with

Commando Crow:

great power comes great responsibility.

Commando Crow:

Most people that learn any type of fighting, I don't care what kind it is,

Commando Crow:

if they have a good instructor, that instructor, 100 percent of the time,

Commando Crow:

a good instructor is going to advise their students, this is not for you to

Commando Crow:

go out and impose your will on people.

Commando Crow:

This is for self defense.

Commando Crow:

Last resort.

Commando Crow:

Yeah, you'd be taught And if you master those skills, you get

Commando Crow:

proficient at those skills, you will be effective a good attacker.

Commando Crow:

And it's one of those tools that, in my opinion, it should be in every tool box

Commando Crow:

It should be what, you broke up?

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: One school boss.

Commando Crow:

Now, me, I'm not.

Commando Crow:

What happened there?

Commando Crow:

You there?

Commando Crow:

Mike,

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: can you hear me?

Commando Crow:

Yeah, I can.

Commando Crow:

I don't know what happened.

Commando Crow:

He just disappeared for a second and came right back.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

But, I'm not as proficient as I once was because I drive and I

Commando Crow:

don't, I can't go to training.

Commando Crow:

I don't know anybody that is trained in my immediate circle, which is very small.

Commando Crow:

And yeah.

Commando Crow:

So I don't get to work on my hand to hand skills very well or very much.

Commando Crow:

But the one thing, and I am abnormal in this sense, I'm very

Commando Crow:

abnormal, is that I'm tough.

Commando Crow:

You can beat me, you can do all kinds of damage to me, but I'm not going to quit.

Commando Crow:

I'm just tough.

Commando Crow:

I don't feel the pain like a lot of people do.

Commando Crow:

You can hit me in the head with a two by four and chances are I'm

Commando Crow:

still going to be there in the fight.

Commando Crow:

But I've been conditioned to getting my ass handed to me for a

Commando Crow:

lot of years and I'm so I'm pretty

Commando Crow:

convinced that I'm pretty convinced that I'm just tough.

Commando Crow:

So even though my skills aren't refined, I have the knowledge, my

Commando Crow:

lack of proficiency, my toughness, will kick in at that point.

Commando Crow:

Right.

Commando Crow:

I don't know what happened then.

Commando Crow:

There was like, the screen's still jittering a little every now and again,

Commando Crow:

but did you finish what you were saying?

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

Okay.

Commando Crow:

I couldn't tell.

Commando Crow:

Cause I think you froze up right about the time you were saying

Commando Crow:

that's where your toughness kicks in.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

The things we hadn't discussed yet as part of that

Commando Crow:

personal protection aspect of.

Commando Crow:

And this was something I hated as a kid, but now I, I adhere to it pretty

Commando Crow:

closely because mainly because where I've been in life, you don't want to be

Commando Crow:

caught with your pants down if you will.

Commando Crow:

But one of the things that I have found to be very beneficial is always making sure

Commando Crow:

somebody knows where you are, when you're going to be somewhere, that sort of thing.

Commando Crow:

And even how I'm going to get there and how I'm going to get back because.

Commando Crow:

Anything happens between here and there and back, I don't want, I

Commando Crow:

don't want to be attacked in any way and then left on the side of the

Commando Crow:

road and nobody know where I'm at.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: At some point, somebody's going to be missing you.

Commando Crow:

Exactly, and I would like them to be missing me a lot sooner

Commando Crow:

than later, because that could be the difference between life and death.

Commando Crow:

And, I've had several friends throughout the years who got run

Commando Crow:

over by a car coming home, but they didn't die for four or five days.

Commando Crow:

They're laying there in a ditch and nobody knew where they were, and

Commando Crow:

I don't want that happening to me.

Commando Crow:

If somebody.

Commando Crow:

If somebody knows where I am and when I'm going to be back

Commando Crow:

and I'm not back then, hopefully somebody will come looking for me.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah I don't know.

Commando Crow:

There's so many aspects of this.

Commando Crow:

And for me, I'm going to use knives as an example, because I have.

Commando Crow:

Always got an undisclosed amount of blades on my person.

Commando Crow:

I would never say how many, but it is better than

Commando Crow:

you don't want them.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah.

Commando Crow:

You got four more on it.

Commando Crow:

Where are they?

Commando Crow:

I just leave that an undisclosed amount, but

Commando Crow:

people used to tell me, you don't mind people

Commando Crow:

saying you carry a knife.

Commando Crow:

Do you?

Commando Crow:

Yep.

Commando Crow:

How many do you think I have?

Commando Crow:

Yeah, I

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: don't mind.

Commando Crow:

The thing about it is, I carry multiple blades.

Commando Crow:

And I carry multiple blades.

Commando Crow:

Now this is just my way of thinking.

Commando Crow:

I don't know what situation I'm going to be in.

Commando Crow:

Say somebody gets to drive on me.

Commando Crow:

Say they try to restrain me somehow.

Commando Crow:

I've got blades that are accessible in just about from any position.

Commando Crow:

I have multiple blades also, just for the fact that if I do require a use of

Commando Crow:

a blade and it gets knocked out of my hand or it gets taken from me, I don't

Commando Crow:

want to be a shit Creek without a paddle.

Commando Crow:

Yeah, I've got backup.

Commando Crow:

And I just, need to start identifying with any type of

Commando Crow:

a defensive tool or weapon.

Commando Crow:

Whether it be knives and knives are so cheap nowadays and ain't got to be.

Commando Crow:

high end knives, but knives are cheap.

Commando Crow:

Getting quite a few of them is very easy.

Commando Crow:

Having your keys in between your fingers as a very good weapon.

Commando Crow:

You'd be surprised the length of a key of this inch and a half, two inches long

Commando Crow:

with an amount of force and repeatedly thrust into a body, especially certain

Commando Crow:

locations do a lot of damage to somebody.

Commando Crow:

You definitely think twice

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: easy.

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

Oh

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: yeah.

Commando Crow:

And they'll be sprout.

Commando Crow:

You put enough holes in them.

Commando Crow:

I'm digging.

Commando Crow:

Believe me.

Commando Crow:

They'll stop.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And if they don't, you don't stop period.

Commando Crow:

Tack and you just don't stop until they ain't moving no more.

Commando Crow:

And

Commando Crow:

I'll tell you, I don't know

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: why

Commando Crow:

people haven't talked about this in a long

Commando Crow:

time, but one of my favorite.

Commando Crow:

Weapons was actually a roll of quarters.

Commando Crow:

It's not illegal to carry a roll of quarters But I guarantee you put one

Commando Crow:

of those roll of quarters inside a fist and it becomes an iron fist.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Oh, yeah nowadays with inflation, I don't

Commando Crow:

even know if i'd be able to roll

Commando Crow:

a nickels maybe

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: I'll be breaking into that every couple minutes But

Commando Crow:

okay say it's not a roll of quarters

Commando Crow:

Yeah,

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: get you a wooden dowel or something and

Commando Crow:

get it cut the size of your palm where it'll lay across your palm

Commando Crow:

Does it

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: width of your palm?

Commando Crow:

Maybe even a little longer anything that I'll put inside your hand

Commando Crow:

that'll increase the more solid

Commando Crow:

yeah turns more to a Bruce Lee fist than it does,

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: Yeah,

Commando Crow:

Torch lighters are good for that.

Commando Crow:

Even a knife.

Commando Crow:

If you're holding a pocket knife in your hand, the blade is not open.

Commando Crow:

You can use that.

Commando Crow:

It's not going to feel good to you, but you can use it.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: But and people need to understand that there are a

Commando Crow:

lot of things that can be utilized for weapons that are just everyday devices.

Commando Crow:

That's right.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And knowing where they are.

Commando Crow:

There's a perfect weapon right there.

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

That is a perfect weapon.

Commando Crow:

Keeping them

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: accessible.

Commando Crow:

Yeah.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: And I'll be honest also, it would be smart.

Commando Crow:

I used to study pressure points and if you study pressure points and

Commando Crow:

human anatomy, I guarantee you minimal effort from you can repel an attacker.

Commando Crow:

Actually, and I'm going to add to that because I found out.

Commando Crow:

Through experience that, those pressure points, you can render your tack attacker,

Commando Crow:

incapable of doing anything period.

Commando Crow:

As one example I have of that, when I came back here from Texas and started training.

Commando Crow:

In Pearl, this guy, he flat out told me that I was not to pick up a weapon

Commando Crow:

in his studio until he trained me how to use it, and that would be

Commando Crow:

way down the line, because of where I was as far as my training, right?

Commando Crow:

But one day, he asked me if I saw a weapon on the wall I liked, and I said,

Commando Crow:

sure do, and he said, go get it, so I grabbed a four inch, four foot bow staff.

Commando Crow:

He said, now go grab me the most dangerous weapon on the wall.

Commando Crow:

I'm looking at all these weapons going, let's say, no, yeah, I don't do this.

Commando Crow:

That was let me think.

Commando Crow:

It was a key ring that had a three, three inch piece of wood on it.

Commando Crow:

Had three grooves.

Commando Crow:

And that's it.

Commando Crow:

He said that was the most dangerous weapon and told me to go ahead

Commando Crow:

and hit him with that bo staff.

Commando Crow:

And I said, really?

Commando Crow:

He said, yeah, and don't give me one of these little sissy swings.

Commando Crow:

He didn't use that terminology.

Commando Crow:

And he said, don't give me one of these sissy swings like my other students do.

Commando Crow:

He said, go ahead and hit me with it.

Commando Crow:

And I said, okay, you asked.

Commando Crow:

And by the time I was saved for it, I went to swing thinking I'm

Commando Crow:

going to catch him off guard.

Commando Crow:

The next thing I know I'm laying face down on the floor.

Commando Crow:

I could not move.

Commando Crow:

And he had the staff and it never touched the floor.

Commando Crow:

And oddly enough, when I could move again, I did the dumbest thing I could have ever

Commando Crow:

done and I said, how did you do that?

Commando Crow:

And he said, just like this two fingers right in the middle of the back.

Commando Crow:

I was like, Oh, I didn't want you to show me.

Commando Crow:

I want you to tell me twice.

Commando Crow:

I went down.

Commando Crow:

It was not a long paralysis, but 30 seconds down.

Commando Crow:

It'll give you plenty of time to get away.

Commando Crow:

All-American Commando: But pressure points, studying pressure

Commando Crow:

points it, it is a good thing.

Commando Crow:

I studied them for years when I did martial arts and I wanted to get

Commando Crow:

to the point where I had to utilize less force to repel my attacker.

Commando Crow:

And it also makes light work out of a bad situation.

Commando Crow:

that concludes our discussion today and we
